Police Rescue 3 Abducted Children in Kwara, Arrest 78 Suspects in Abuja Raids

Security forces recorded significant breakthroughs in separate operations across Nigeria on April 19, 2025, as police rescued three kidnapped children in Kwara State and arrested 78 suspects in coordinated anti-crime raids across Abuja, PRNigeria learnt.

In Kwara State, the police successfully rescued three children, aged between 2 and 12 years, who were abducted during an attack along the Obbo Aiyegunle/OSI Road.

Zagazola reports that the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when about eight armed hoodlums blocked the highway and abducted seven passengers from a Sienna bus with registration number FFA 50 XD.

Responding swiftly, a combined team of police officers and local vigilantes was dispatched to the scene. The abandoned vehicle was recovered, and a search operation in the surrounding bushes led to the rescue of the three children. Efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining victims and apprehend the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, in the Federal Capital Territory, police operatives arrested 78 suspects during a series of coordinated night raids targeting criminal hideouts.

The operation, which began around 11:40 p.m., covered key districts including Tungan Maje, Kubwa, Jabi, Nyanya, Kabusa, Karmo, Utako, Dawaki, and Gwarinpa.

According to intelligence sources, the raids focused on black spots and uncompleted buildings notorious for harboring criminal activities. During the operations, officers recovered dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit substances.

The suspects are currently undergoing screening and interrogation, with those found culpable to be prosecuted in court.

The police authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying efforts to combat crime, protect lives and property, and ensure public safety across the country.
