Troops Eliminate 3 Armed Robbery Suspects in Kaduna
A weapons recovery mission turned deadly on Monday evening after troops of Operation Lafiyan Jama’a neutralised three armed robbery suspects who allegedly attempted to escape during a guided operation in Kaduna State, PRNigeria reports.
Security sources who spoke to Zagazola revealed that the encounter occurred around 6:30 p.m. during a follow-up mission based on intelligence from recently apprehended suspects.

The trio, initially in custody over a string of armed robbery incidents, had reportedly agreed to lead troops to a forested cache where they had hidden firearms and ammunition. However, while en route to the location, the suspects allegedly launched a surprise attack on one of the soldiers, trying to seize his weapon in a bid to flee.
The soldiers responded swiftly, neutralising all three suspects on the spot.
“The troops acted decisively, preventing what could have been a major threat to the operation and their safety,” the source noted.
The mission is part of an ongoing crackdown on criminal networks operating in and around Kaduna State. Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to rooting out armed elements through sustained intelligence-driven operations.
