COAS Tasks Officers to Innovate Against Emerging Security Threats
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has charged officers of the Nigerian Army to explore ingenious and workable ideas to tackle emerging security threats.
A statement by Lieutenant Colonel, Appolnia Anele, Acting Director, Army Public Relations on Tuesday, in Abuja.
“The success of our operations is dependent upon the ability of the Combat Arms to harness their strengths in cohesion,” General Oluyede said during the Combat Arms Training (CAT) Week 2025 in Bauchi.

He emphasized the need for purposeful leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to mission objectives, stating that “such approaches are veritable ways to attain successes in ongoing operations.”
The COAS urged participants to go beyond doctrinal exercises and proffer innovative solutions to enhance troop effectiveness, saying, “I charge you to continue to explore ingenious and workable ideas to mitigating emerging threats while making maximum use of the available resources at your disposal.”
The event included a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 211 Demonstration Battalion Barracks and the commissioning of the Nigerian Army/NORINCO Comprehensive Service Centre.
