In a related development, troops of the 25 Brigade under Operation Hadin Kai, and operating within the framework of Operation Desert Sanity, received the voluntary surrender of 10 family members of insurgents in Damboa town. The group comprises five women and five children.
According to military sources, the surrender is a direct result of sustained ground and aerial operations that have intensified pressure on terrorist hideouts, forcing many to flee or turn themselves in.
The surrendered individuals are currently in military custody where they are being profiled and undergoing necessary administrative procedures in line with security protocols.
Security officials have called on the public to remain vigilant and to continue providing credible and timely information that can aid ongoing operations in the northeast.
