Military Nab 3 Suspected Gunrunners, Recover Arms in Kaduna

Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have arrested three suspected gunrunners during a targeted raid at Golgkofa village in Godogodo Chiefdom, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The operation, which was based on credible intelligence, took place on Wednesday, May 8, 2025. According to a statement issued in Jos on Friday by Major Samson Zhakom, the Media Information Officer of OPSH, the troops stormed a suspected hideout known for harboring illegal arms dealers.

During the operation, three suspects—Adamu Musa, 65; Lukman Isah, 35; and Umar Jammo, 25—were arrested. Items recovered from the scene included one AK-47 rifle, a fabricated firearm, an AK-47 magazine, a round of 7.62mm special ammunition, and three motorcycles believed to be used in their operations.

Major Zhakom stated that the suspects are currently in custody and have begun providing useful information that could lead to the arrest of other members of the gunrunning syndicate and the recovery of additional weapons.

He reassured residents that Operation Safe Haven remains committed to maintaining peace and security in Southern Kaduna and other operational areas, urging the public to continue providing actionable intelligence to help combat criminal elements.
