Troops Destroy ‘Soja Camp’ Bandits Enclaves, Eliminate Scores, Recover Weapons in Katsina
Troops of the Headquarters Operation Forest Yaki (OPFY) Main Strike Team have neutralized several terrorists and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a coordinated clearance operation across parts of Katsina State, PRNigeria reports.
Military intelligence sources who spoke to Zagazola disclosed that the operation commenced at approximately 5:30 a.m. on May 9, with troops advancing from Bini in the HAR axis through Landal village, Akuzo, and on to the Yan Wutsiya area. There, they encountered a terrorist hideout referred to as “Soja Camp.”

The terrorists engaged the advancing troops in a fierce firefight, resulting in the elimination of several insurgents. Others fled the area with gunshot wounds, as indicated by visible blood trails at the scene.
Following the successful engagement, troops carried out a detailed exploitation of the camp, recovering a significant cache of arms and equipment. Items recovered included two AK-47 rifles, ten AK-47 magazines containing 300 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one 120mm mortar bomb suspected to be intended for use in improvised explosive devices (IEDs), one locally fabricated PKT rifle, one locally made pistol, 120/88 ammunition links, military uniforms, and a Baofeng radio set with its charger.
Additionally, the troops destroyed a motorcycle used by the fleeing terrorists, along with all logistics and support structures within the encampment.
Military sources reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to intensify operations across the region, vowing to dismantle all terrorist strongholds and restore peace and security to affected communities.
