Troops Ambush Boko Haram Terrorists, Eliminate 2 Insurgents in Borno
Troops of the 24 Task Force Brigade under Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with Hybrid Forces, have successfully ambushed fleeing Boko Haram terrorists in Koibe village, disrupting enemy movements and recovering the bodies of two neutralized insurgents in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State, PRNigeria learnt.
Military sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama that the ambush, conducted under the ongoing Operation Desert Sanity IV, was executed in the early hours of Friday, May 9, 2025, based on actionable intelligence.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., the troops made contact with the terrorists in Koibe village and engaged them in a fierce gun battle, forcing the insurgents to retreat in disarray—many believed to have sustained gunshot wounds—as they fled toward the Boboshe axis.
In a subsequent clearance operation, troops discovered two freshly dug graves at Boboshe containing the bodies of neutralized terrorists.
While attempting to recover the bodies around 11:00 a.m., troops again came under fire from surviving terrorist elements. The soldiers responded decisively and pursued the fleeing insurgents toward the Gargash general area.
The military continues to sustain pressure on insurgent groups in the region through aggressive clearance operations and targeted ambushes.
