Anambra Police Arrest 4 Suspected Kidnappers, Recover Stolen Vehicles

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested four members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate, including a female suspect, during a well-coordinated raid in Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area.

The operation, which was carried out by officers of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, took place on Thursday, May 9, 2025, around 7:30 pm, following credible intelligence.

The raid led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of three stolen vehicles, an HP laptop, a car spraying machine, motor wires, and substances suspected to be methamphetamine, commonly known as Mkpurummiri.

The arrested suspects were identified as Chigozie Udolisa (alias T. Dollars), Anaolu Joseph (alias Blue), Chukwuka Udolisa (alias Udokamiri), and a female accomplice, Chinaza Udemezue. All suspects are aged between 19 and 28 years.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects confessed to being involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, and car snatching operations. The female suspect, Chinaza, reportedly disclosed that her boyfriend managed to flee the scene with their weapons upon noticing the police arrival.

Recovered from the gang were three vehicles: a black Lexus GS 350 with registration number ENU 561 LY, an ash-coloured Toyota Camry with registration number UWN 614 HK, and a navy blue Toyota Corolla with registration number UMZ 135 AD.

SP Ikenga said the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation to provide further insight into their criminal network and to assist in apprehending other fleeing members of the gang.

The Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to intensifying efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and ensure public safety.
