His emergence comes at a time of heightened tension in Nigeria’s university system, with renewed fears of industrial action over lingering issues. Among the key concerns are disputes surrounding the sharing formula for the recently released Earned Academic Allowances by the Federal Government, persistent brain drain, and other unresolved challenges in the education sector.
Piwuna is expected to navigate these pressing matters and steer ASUU’s next course of action as the union continues to advocate for improved university funding and working conditions for academic staff across Nigeria.
