Troops Eliminate Scores of Boko Haram Fighters in Sambisa Forest
The troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have neutralized scores of insurgents during a high-impact military offensive deep within the Sambisa Forest, PRNigeria learnt.
The assault, carried out on May 11, 2025, targeted, Ladin Buttu, a notorious enclave known to serve as a strategic logistics and transit hub for the terror group.
According to a press statement signed by Captain Reuben Kovangiya, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, leveraging superior firepower and tactical precision to overpower the militants.

Military source told PRNigeria that at least five insurgents were confirmed killed in the confrontation, while five fully loaded AK-47 magazines and other military ordnance were recovered at the scene.
Military intelligence suggests more terrorists may have been fatally wounded, as trails of blood were found along escape routes used by retreating fighters.
“Ladin Buttu has long been a vital location for Boko Haram’s operations within the forest,” said Captain Kovangiya. “This operation significantly disrupts their movement and logistics coordination.”
The operation is part of a renewed push by OPHK forces to reclaim and dominate key areas in the North East under directives issued by the Chief of Army Staff. Commanders praised the troops’ bravery and effectiveness, reaffirming the army’s commitment to rooting out terrorist elements from their hideouts.
The military urged residents in surrounding communities to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements as mopping-up operations continue.
