Katsina Police Arrest Notorious Fraudster with $34,500 Counterfeit Currency
The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended a notorious fraudster specializing in circulating counterfeit foreign currencies in the state.

The suspect was arrested following credible intelligence, which led operatives to his residence at Sokoto Rima quarters in the state capital.

According to DSP Abubakar Aliyu, Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, a thorough search of the suspect’s residence yielded 345 pieces of counterfeit $100 USD denomination, five pieces of counterfeit 10,000 CFA, and other incriminating items, including suspected criminal charms and perfumes.
The suspect is currently in custody as the investigation progresses, with efforts underway to identify and apprehend his accomplices. Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bello Shehu, has commended the operatives and the public for their continued support and cooperation in the fight against crime.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Katsina residents. This development underscores the police’s determination to tackle economic crimes and maintain order in
the state.
