
CP Bakori Hails Kano Commanders for Crime-Fighting Success, Celebrates DPO Sharada’s National Award
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has commended his Tactical and Operational Commanders for their unwavering commitment and dedication to duty, following significant breakthroughs in crime cases recorded in the state over the past week.
This was disclosed in a statement by Kano Police Spokesperson, SP Haruna Kiyawa in a statement.
Speaking during a meeting with the Commanders on May 12, 2025, at the Command Headquarters, CP Bakori expressed satisfaction with the progress made in combating crime and maintaining public order. He urged the officers to sustain the momentum to ensure continuous peace and security across Kano State.
“Your collective efforts have yielded commendable results in tackling crimes and criminality. I am proud of the dedication you have shown and encourage you to maintain this tempo to ensure Kano remains peaceful and secure,” the Commissioner said.

In a related development, the Command celebrated one of its own, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Abdurrahim Adamu, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Sharada Division, who was recently honoured with a prestigious national award by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).
The award recognises CSP Adamu’s “outstanding and immense contribution to the development and progress of policing in Nigeria,” particularly in strengthening community policing efforts and fostering collaboration with the PCRC National Headquarters in Abuja.
The recognition is seen as a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the officers and men of the Kano State Command in promoting peace, security, and community development.
While congratulating CSP Adamu on the accolade, CP Bakori dedicated the award to the entire Command, highlighting the collective efforts of the officers in driving effective policing strategies in the state.
“This award is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the entire Command. It is a recognition of your selfless service to the public, and I commend you all for your tireless efforts in maintaining law and order,” CP Bakori added.
The Command also expressed appreciation to the National PCRC for acknowledging its contributions and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships aimed at enhancing community policing and security in Kano State.
