Nasarawa Police Intercept Suspected Katsina-Bound Female Arms Trafficker
The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old woman, Fatima Salisu, over alleged involvement in arms trafficking operations linked to criminal activities in Katsina State.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, Salisu was apprehended following credible intelligence reports.
She was reportedly smuggling ammunition through the Keana and Doma local government areas of Nasarawa State, en route to Katsina, where she resides.

“Acting on a reliable tip-off, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima J. Mohammed, directed the immediate deployment of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit,” the statement said.
The operation led to Salisu’s arrest and the recovery of a cache of ammunition, including 400 rounds of 7.62x39mm and 81 rounds of 7.62mm NATO rounds.
The suspect is currently in police custody and undergoing intensive interrogation. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to unravel the full extent of the arms trafficking network and its possible links to terrorism and armed banditry in the region.
DSP Nansel described the arrest as a significant milestone in the fight against the illegal circulation of firearms and related criminal activities in Nasarawa and neighboring states.
