Troops Overrun Terrorist Hideouts in Sambisa, Recover Weapons, Explosive Devices
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in a joint clearance operation with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully overrun multiple terrorist hideouts in the notorious Sambisa Forest, a former stronghold of Boko Haram insurgents.
The coordinated offensive, which took place on Wednesday, May 15, 2025, between 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., targeted key enclaves in Garin Malam Ali, Garin Glucose, and Ukuba, within the forest.
According to information released on the official Facebook page of the Nigerian Army Headquarters, the operation was part of an intensified effort to dislodge terrorists and dismantle their logistics bases in the region.

Troops reportedly launched a heavy assault on the identified hideouts, forcing the terrorists to flee, abandoning their weapons and improvised explosive device (IED) production materials.
Items recovered during the raid included a cache of arms, assorted ammunition, and IED-making equipment. Military authorities confirmed that no casualties were recorded on the side of the troops or CJTF during the operation.
“The exploitation of the Sambisa Forest is ongoing,” the Army disclosed, signaling the likelihood of further operations aimed at flushing out remaining terrorist elements from the area.
The successful clearance underscores recent gains made by Nigerian security forces in the North-East, following renewed directives by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, to intensify operations against insurgents and restore lasting peace to the region.
Military officials have urged residents to continue supporting the troops with timely information, as operations continue to uproot terrorist networks and secure liberated communities.
