2025 UTME Crisis: NIPR Sympathises with Parents, Candidates

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) commiserates with parents and candidates of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) who were affected by the technical glitches experienced by Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) recently, leading to the death of a candidate and mass failure in the examination.
Expressing sadness over the reported suicide, the NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, said the Institute was deeply touched by the loss of a young girl who was allegedly affected by her low score emanating from the technical challenge.

Dr. Neliaku reiterated that the NIPR stands in solidarity with the affected candidates and their parents, stressing that this trying moment calls for public understanding and collective efforts towards stablising the current situation.
On the other hand, the Institute has applauded the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede for his courage to admit the challenges that affected the outcome of the examination, pointing out that his action clearly exhibited deep-seated commitment to ethical leadership, transparency and accountability.
The President said that NIPR as an Institute will continue to offer support to JAMB as it works to regain public confidence and uphold the integrity of its examination processes, while urging candidates who are participating at the ongoing “resit” exam, members of the public and all stakeholders to exercise patience and contribute constructively to the ongoing review and reforms.
