Governor Radda Overhauls Immigration Fleet in Katsina to Strengthen Security Operations

In a significant boost to border security and operational efficiency, the Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has completed a comprehensive overhaul of its vehicle fleet, courtesy of funding support from the Katsina State Government under the leadership of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.

This was disclosed in a statement by the NIS spokesperson in the state, DSI M. Hambali.

The fleet refurbishment initiative, led by the Comptroller of Immigration Service in Katsina, Mohammed Adamu Mahmoud, pcc, cna, fcilrm, involved a wide-ranging maintenance programme targeting the Command’s operational vehicles. The initiative went beyond routine repairs to include panel beating, painting, and the replacement of vital components such as tyres, fuel pumps, power steering systems, brake systems, engine parts, transmissions, suspension assemblies, electrical wiring, radiators, and batteries.

Comptroller Mahmoud praised Governor Radda’s intervention, noting that the support reflects the administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the capacity of security agencies across the state. He emphasized that the refurbished vehicles will significantly improve the mobility and responsiveness of immigration officers tasked with securing Nigeria’s northern borders.

“This strategic intervention by Governor Radda is a testament to the state government’s dedication to supporting security institutions with the tools necessary for effective service delivery and national security,” said Mahmoud.

The improved fleet is expected to enhance patrol operations, surveillance, and the overall efficiency of the Command in addressing cross-border crimes and migration-related challenges in the state.
