Akwa Ibom CP Hosts NIPR Delegates, Reaffirms Bond with Kano Alumni

Akwa Ibom CP Hosts NIPR Delegates, Reaffirms Bond with Kano Alumni

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, has hosted a special dinner in honour of delegates attending the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Council elections of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Uyo.

The honoured guests were alumni of Bayero University Kano (BUK) and NIPR members from North-East states, including Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, and Yobe. Notably, CP Azare is also an alumnus of BUK and a proud member of the NIPR Kano State Chapter.

Speaking emotionally during the event, CP Azare recalled his deep connection to Kano, where he completed his university education, received police training at the Police Academy Wudil, and began his policing career.

> “Kano is more than home to me. I got everything in Kano — my university education at BUK, police training in Wudil, and began my career there. The people of Kano embraced and supported me in every way, and I will never forget that as long as I live. I always pray for opportunities to reciprocate the kindness I received,” he said.

In his remarks, Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule, a veteran PR professional and delegate, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception and generous support.

Also speaking at the event, Bauchi State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman, said, “Words alone cannot express our gratitude. May Almighty Allah reward CP Azare abundantly.”

Other notable guests at the dinner included Jigawa State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Sagir Musa; Special Adviser on Media to the Bauchi State Governor, Mukhtar Gidado; former Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru Mohammed; Registrar of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Alhaji Kabiru; and Director of Public Affairs at Bayero University, Lamara Garba.

The event underscored CP Azare’s commitment to fostering professional camaraderie and building enduring bridges of goodwill across regions and institutions.
