Troops Eliminate Terrorists Looting Food from Faulty Vehicle, Recover Firearms, Motorcycles in Borno
In a significant offensive against insurgency in the North-East, Nigerian Army troops under Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully neutralized several Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in multiple operations across Borno State.
According to a statement posted on the official Facebook handle of the Nigerian Army, the troops launched coordinated operations on May 21, 2025, targeting insurgents in two key locations.

In Rann, a town in Kala Balge Local Government Area, troops intercepted a group of terrorists attempting to loot food items from a broken-down civilian vehicle. The soldiers swiftly engaged the insurgents in a firefight, resulting in the elimination of six terrorists. Several AK-47 rifles and quantities of ammunition were recovered at the scene.
In a related development, troops from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Molai, along with members of the CJTF, carried out a successful ambush at a known terrorist crossing near Komala, along the Maiduguri-Damboa road. The operation led to the death of several terrorists and the recovery of multiple motorcycles and materials for improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which the terrorists reportedly intended to bury along the route.
The Nigerian Army described the operations as part of its ongoing efforts to degrade the operational capacity of terrorist elements and secure the region from further attacks.
The military has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring lasting peace in the North-East, while calling on citizens to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with security agencies.
