Eid-el-Kabir: CG Audi Dispatches 28,000 NSCDC Operatives Nationwide to Ensure Peaceful Celebration
In a robust move to guarantee a safe and secure Eid-el-Kabir celebration across the country, the Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has directed the deployment of over 28,000 tactical operatives to strategic locations nationwide.
The deployment was announced following the Federal Government’s declaration of public holidays by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
According to a press statement signed by the National Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, CSC Afolabi Babawale Anipr, today, the NSCDC said the personnel would be drawn from various tactical and intelligence units including the Intelligence Directorate, Special Female Squad, Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad, Mining Marshals, Quick Response Tactical Team, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Operations Department, and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit.
The CG emphasized that the initiative is in line with his commitment to ensuring the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as the safety of lives and property during the festive period.
Dr Audi noted that the Corps is on high alert to forestall any criminal activities, particularly those potentially planned by miscreants to disrupt public peace during the celebrations.

“As the festive season approaches, we are redoubling efforts to combat security threats such as insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, vandalism, illegal bunkering, farmers/herders clashes, and other forms of economic sabotage,” he said.
He made these remarks during a strategic security meeting held with top management of the Corps, including State Commandants and Heads of Formations. There, he emphasized the importance of improved intelligence gathering and effective community engagement, describing credible intelligence as the foundation of successful security operations.
Dr Audi further called for stronger cooperation among all security agencies, stating that “no single agency has the monopoly of tackling insecurity alone.” He urged all 36 State Commandants and the FCT to maintain synergy with other security stakeholders and local communities.
“We also call on members of the public to support this course of action so that together we can attain the goal of effective security coverage across board,” the CG added.
The Corps also appealed to private security operators to actively contribute by providing timely intelligence and working closely with law enforcement authorities.
In his goodwill message, Dr Audi extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and the diaspora, urging them to pray for the nation’s peace, unity, and development during the holy occasion.
