Street Violence: CP Jimoh Deploys Tactical Teams to Curb Teenage Hoodlums in Mushin
In response to recent reports of street violence, harassment, and daylight thefts by teenage miscreants in Mushin, the Lagos State Police Command has intensified security operations in the area, deploying additional tactical teams to restore order and safeguard lives and property.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Owohunwa Jimoh, has ordered the immediate deployment of Police Mobile Force (PMF), tactical squads, and conventional police officers to Mushin and its environs.
This move follows multiple complaints from residents and traders about rising insecurity involving youths aged between 14 and 16, who have been involved in brazen attacks, harassment, and looting of shops in broad daylight.
“As a result of these concerns, we have reviewed our operational strategies and implemented targeted deployments to combat this disturbing trend. Normalcy has now been restored to Mushin and its adjoining communities,” the statement said.

Both parties have reportedly outlined collaborative strategies aimed at enhancing security measures for residents and businesses.
On Monday, June 3, police operatives carried out coordinated raids on criminal hideouts and black spots in Ishaga, Awolowo, and Ojuwoye markets. These operations led to the arrest of 23 suspects believed to be directly responsible for the recent wave of street assaults and theft. The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
“The raids will continue until all criminal elements are flushed out and Mushin is free from the grip of these miscreants,” the police assured.
Reaffirming the command’s commitment, CP Jimoh emphasized that the safety and well-being of all Lagosians remain the police’s top priority.
“We urge members of the public to continue supporting our efforts by reporting any suspicious activity to the nearest police station. Our officers have been directed to respond swiftly and decisively to all distress calls,” the statement added.
Residents have been encouraged to go about their lawful activities without fear, as the police reaffirm their resolve to maintain peace and security across Lagos State.
