Security Forces Rescue 4 Abducted Illegal Miners in Zamfara
A joint security operation has led to the successful rescue of four abducted youths who were taken by armed bandits while engaging in illegal mining activities in Alawa bush, near the Hawan Bakwai area, a known hotspot in Zamfara State,. PRNigeria learnt.
The incident, which occurred on June 17, involved eight boys from Alasanawa village in Moriki District, Zurmi Local Government Area, who were reportedly kidnapped during an illegal mining expedition.

Zagazola Makama reports that the rescue was carried out by a coordinated effort involving troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, police operatives, members of the Civilian Protection Group (CPG), and local hunters. Security sources confirmed to this reporter that the operatives engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the safe recovery of four of the abducted boys.
Efforts are currently underway to locate and rescue the remaining four victims still in captivity, as security forces continue combing the surrounding areas.
The authorities have reiterated their commitment to dismantling criminal hideouts in the state and warned against illegal mining activities that often expose civilians to the risk of abduction and violence.
