Civil Service Week 2025 Begins with Focus on Innovation, Reform

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has announced the commencement of the 2025 Civil Service Week, holding from Friday, 20th to Saturday, 28th June 2025.

This year’s celebration is themed “Leveraging Technology for a Smart and Agile Public Service”, underscoring the Federal Government’s firm commitment to digital transformation, operational efficiency, and innovation in public service delivery.

The Civil Service Week is an annual celebration that honors the contributions of civil servants to national development, while also serving as a platform to explore progressive reforms and technology-driven strategies for improved public administration.

Line-Up of Activities

– Friday, 20 June The Week begins with the commissioning of the Remodeled OHCSF Foyer and Reception with Exhibition Gallery, followed by a Special Juma’at Prayer.

– Sunday, 22 June The Annual Federal Civil Service Thanksgiving Service will be held at the Family Worship Centre, Abuja.

– Monday, 23 and Tuesday, 24 June A Study Tour of the Federal Civil Service and Landmark Sites in Abuja will be conducted for Heads of Service from the 36 States and the FCT, promoting peer learning and administrative benchmarking.

– Wednesday, 25 and Thursday, 26 June The International Civil Service Conference (ICSC) will take place at Eagle Square, Abuja under the sub-theme: “Rejuvenate, Innovate, and Accelerate!” The Conference will foster global knowledge exchange, international collaboration, and inspire reform across Africa and beyond. Virtual participation will be available via livestream at icsc.ohcsf.gov.ng/live2025.

– Friday, 27 June A Health and Wellness Programme will promote staff fitness, productivity, and well-being. This will be followed by a Networking Event for Civil Servants.

– Saturday, 28 June The Week concludes with a Reward and Recognition Awards Ceremony, celebrating exceptional performance and dedication within the Civil Service.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, extends her warm wishes to all Nigerian civil servants for a productive and impactful Civil Service Week.

This year’s celebration not only applauds the vital role of public servants but also emphasizes the government’s strategic focus on building a smart, agile, and tech-driven Civil Service that delivers results and meets contemporary governance needs.
