Impunity as Trump, Netanyahu Rejoice, Hail Joint Airstrikes on Iranian Nuclear Facilities
U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have congratulated each other following coordinated airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities—an operation Netanyahu described as a “historic moment” for the Middle East.
In a video message released shortly after Trump confirmed the attacks, Netanyahu lauded the United States’ actions, stating:
“Congratulations, President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear infrastructure with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history.”
The Israeli leader emphasized that the strikes represented a pivotal shift, declaring:
“This marks a turning point that will lead the Middle East—and indeed the world—toward a future of peace and prosperity. President Trump and I have always said: peace through strength. First comes strength, then peace.”
Netanyahu confirmed that the strikes were carried out in close coordination with Israel, claiming that the long-standing goal of dismantling Iran’s nuclear program had now been accomplished.
Earlier on Sunday, Trump took to his social media platform to announce that U.S. warplanes had conducted precision airstrikes on nuclear sites in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. He praised the Israeli prime minister, saying:

“We worked as a team—perhaps like no team has ever worked before. We’ve taken a major step in eliminating a dangerous threat to Israel.”
The airstrikes followed days of high-level deliberations and signaled direct U.S. military involvement in the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Israel had launched its bombing campaign on June 13, citing intelligence that Iran was nearing the development of a nuclear weapon—an allegation Tehran has consistently denied.
Trump thanked Netanyahu for Israel’s cooperation and reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to ensuring that Iran never develops nuclear weapons.
The strikes triggered swift global reactions. While Israel welcomed the operation, the United Nations issued a stern warning, urging restraint.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed deep concern, stating:
“I am gravely alarmed by the use of force by the United States against Iran. This is a dangerous escalation in a region already on edge and poses a direct threat to international peace and security. The risk of spiraling conflict with catastrophic consequences is real and growing.”
Guterres called on all UN member states to exercise restraint and adhere to international law:
“At this perilous hour, we must avoid descending into chaos. There is no military solution—only diplomacy can offer a sustainable path forward. The world must choose peace.”
As global powers monitor the rapidly evolving situation, fears are mounting that the deepening crisis could ignite a broader regional conflict with far-reaching implications.
