Gov. Yusuf Condemns Lynching of 2 Kano Indigenes in Makurdi, Vows Justice
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has condemned in strong terms the gruesome killing of two Kano indigenes, Barhama Suleiman and Jamilu Ahmad, who were murdered on Monday night in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The victims were reportedly attacked around 11:00 p.m. by unknown assailants and killed in cold blood without provocation. In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the tragic incident has sparked outrage and sorrow among residents of Kano and across the country.
Describing the attack as “barbaric, senseless, and unacceptable,” Governor Yusuf expressed deep grief over the loss, vowing that justice will be pursued swiftly and decisively.
“It is with a heavy heart and deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of two promising sons of Kano. They were innocent, peace-loving citizens whose only crime was exercising their constitutional right to live and work in any part of Nigeria,” the Governor said.
