Israeli Airstrikes Kill 610 Civilians, Injure Over 4,700 in 12 Days, Says Iran Official
Iran’s Health Ministry has announced that at least 610 civilians have been killed and more than 4,700 others injured since Israel began airstrikes on the Islamic Republic on June 13.
Health ministry spokesman, Hossein Kermanpour, confirmed the figures on Tuesday, describing the casualties as “all civilians.” This marks a sharp rise from earlier reports of over 400 dead and more than 3,000 injured.
“Over the past 12 days, hospitals across the country have been confronted with extremely harrowing scenes,” Kermanpour said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The ministry disclosed that the victims include 13 children—the youngest just two months old—along with five doctors and emergency response workers. In addition to the human toll, seven hospitals and nine ambulances have reportedly been damaged in the ongoing Israeli offensive.
The latest wave of Israeli airstrikes on June 23 targeted sites linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Tehran, including the city’s notorious Evin Prison. The attacks came a day after the United States reportedly struck Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, further intensifying the regional conflict.
A widely circulated image on social media captured thick plumes of smoke rising over Tehran, following the strikes. Israeli authorities have defended the bombardment, claiming they are targeting military installations and infrastructure used by the IRGC.
The situation remains tense, even as international calls for de-escalation grow louder. Meanwhile, Iranian officials accuse Israel of violating a declared ceasefire by continuing its strikes.
