Nigerian Army Hosts Inter-Tribal Dialogue, Fosters Peace in Taraba
The 6 Brigade Nigerian Army has convened a conflict resolution dialogue between the Tiv and Fulani tribes of Bali Local Government Area, Taraba state towards promoting peace and stability.
The meeting, held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 in Jalingo, brought together key stakeholders from both tribes, including political figures, traditional rulers, youth leaders, and community leaders.
In his address, the Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, emphasized the importance of dialogue in resolving disputes and urged all parties to embrace tolerance, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence.

The participants signed a peace pact, committing to zero tolerance for criminal elements, respect for the rule of law, promotion of community cohesion, and resolving disputes through peaceful and lawful means.
The Executive Chairman of Bali Local Government Area, Hon. Dauda Aboki, commended Brigadier General Uwa for his proactive leadership and reaffirmed the readiness of the local government and community leaders to work closely with security agencies to ensure peace in the area.
This initiative showcases the 6 Brigade’s strategic non-kinetic approach to security, highlighting the central role of inclusive dialogue in achieving long-term security and stability across Taraba State.
