Yobe: Four Feared Killed, 18 Injured in Separate IED Explosions
At least four people have been killed and 18 others injured in two separate improvised explosive device (IED) blasts suspected to have been planted by terrorists of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, PRNigeria learnt.
The first explosion occurred on Friday morning along the Goniri–Buni Yadi road when a commercial pickup van transporting traders to the weekly Buni Yadi market struck an IED near Bultaram village.

Zagazola Makama that the blast caused multiple fatalities and injuries. Three passengers were confirmed dead on arrival at the Yobe State Specialist Hospital in Damaturu, while 18 others sustained various degrees of injuries and were admitted for medical treatment.
Hospital sources confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the morgue for autopsy and further procedures.
A few hours later, a second explosion rocked the same vicinity when an unidentified motorcyclist unknowingly triggered another hidden device. He was rushed to the General Hospital in Buni Yadi but was declared dead on arrival.
In response to the incidents, security operatives, including explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams and local vigilantes, have been deployed for clearance operations in the affected areas to prevent further casualties.
Authorities have also intensified surveillance and monitoring activities in the region as search operations continue to uncover and neutralize additional threats.
