During the operation, police intercepted a suspicious convoy consisting of a Toyota 4Runner SUV and a Toyota Corolla sedan. Upon sighting the security operatives, two occupants of the Corolla fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.
However, the occupant of the 4Runner—later identified as 35-year-old Chukwudi Nwodu—reportedly resisted arrest. After a tense standoff, he was overpowered and taken into custody by the police.
A subsequent search of the SUV uncovered a cache of suspicious items, including one sharp axe, three functional walkie-talkies, a blue military beret, a sharp poisonous spear, a black face mask, and a short knife—raising further concerns about the suspect’s intentions and affiliations.
Police say the suspect is currently undergoing intense interrogation, while efforts are underway to apprehend his fleeing accomplices and unravel the full extent of the syndicate’s operations.
