Troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN have recorded another success in the ongoing Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A by ambushing a group of bandits, neutralising one of them, and rescuing a kidnapped victim in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to a statement issued by Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer for Operation SAFE HAVEN, the ambush was conducted on July 2, 2025, along the Kampani Zurak–Sabon Gari road, based on credible intelligence about the movement of suspected bandits with a hostage.

The troops made contact with the criminals as they attempted to cross the area on a motorcycle. In the ensuing engagement, one of the bandits was neutralised, while others abandoned their captive and fled into the surrounding bushes.
