Plateau: Troops Nab Suspected Gunrunner, Recover AK-47, Ammunition in Plateau
Troops of Sector 5 under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have apprehended a suspected gunrunner and recovered an AK-47 rifle along with ammunition during a snap checkpoint operation in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that the operation took place on Wednesday, July 3, around 5:45 p.m. at Mangar in Daffo District, following credible intelligence on the movement of illicit arms in the area.

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Zubairu Ahmed, was intercepted by troops and found in possession of one AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine containing three rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, a motorcycle, two Tecno mobile phones, some clothing materials, and N400 in cash.
The suspect and recovered items have been taken into custody for further investigation, while efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest other members of the arms trafficking network operating in the region.
