Police Arraign 22 Suspects Over Killing of Kaduna Wedding Guests in Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the arraignment of 22 suspects in connection with the brutal mob attack that claimed the lives of 13 wedding guests in Mangun community, Mangu Local Government Area, on June 21, 2025.

The victims, part of a 31-member group traveling from Basawa community in Zaria, Kaduna State, to Qua’an Pan LGA in Plateau State for a wedding, reportedly lost their way and stopped in Mangun village to seek directions. Tragically, they were attacked by a mob, resulting in the deaths of 13 people, including women and children.

In an official invitation sent to accredited journalists late Wednesday, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, disclosed that the suspects will be arraigned at the Plateau State High Court (Court 10) by 9:00 am on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

“We therefore invite all members of the press to come witness this process… After the court proceedings, we will proceed to the Plateau State Police Command Headquarters, where the Commissioner of Police will address a press conference,” the statement read.

To facilitate coverage, the Police Command said it will provide a vehicle to convey journalists from the High Court to the Command Headquarters.

The arraignment is seen as a significant step in seeking justice for the victims and holding the perpetrators accountable.
