BPSR DG Bags Prestigious Africa Illustrious Award for Exemplary Leadership
The Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, has been honoured with the prestigious Africa Illustrious Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to public sector transformation and his unwavering commitment to national development.
The award presentation took place at a colourful ceremony held over the weekend in Victoria Island, Lagos. The event brought together eminent personalities, policymakers, technocrats, and captains of industry from across the continent, celebrating individuals and institutions making significant impact in governance, philanthropy, innovation, and human capital development.
Mr. Arabi emerged as one of the distinguished recipients following a rigorous nomination and evaluation process coordinated by a panel of independent experts and researchers. The selection committee cited his exceptional leadership in repositioning the BPSR as a key driver of good governance and institutional reforms in Nigeria.
While receiving the award, the BPSR boss dedicated the honour to his management team and staff of the Bureau, as well as all public servants striving to improve governance and service delivery in the country.

”This award is a testament to what can be achieved through teamwork, dedication, and commitment to national service,” Arabi said. “We remain resolute in our mission to champion transformative reforms that promote transparency, efficiency, and citizen-centric governance in Nigeria’s public sector.”
Similarly, Mr. Arabi expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition and also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its unwavering support to institutional reform efforts through the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly the strategic backing provided by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) in strengthening public sector governance.
Speaking on behalf of the award committee, Dr. Harris Madueke congratulated the BPSR helmsman and described him as a shining example of purposeful leadership. “The Africa Illustrious Award seeks to identify and celebrate those who are not just performing, but transforming their fields.
