Police Nab Suspects Over Killing of Chinese National, Arrest 2 Others in Plateau
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a Chinese national, Mr. Chen Wang, following a meticulous, intelligence-led operation that spanned multiple states.
Mr. Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd., was found dead in his office in Ogere, Ogun State, on January 12, 2025, with multiple stab wounds to the chest. The shocking incident prompted immediate police intervention and the activation of high-level technical support from the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
In a press release issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police confirmed the arrest of two factory workers identified as Yunusa Abdullahi, 25, from Borno State, and Peace Keno Danlami, 20, from Taraba State. The suspects, believed to be romantically linked, were tracked and apprehended on July 14, 2025, in Jos, Plateau State, after several weeks in hiding under false identities.

According to police investigations, the duo took advantage of reduced staffing on the day of the incident and, while on overtime duty, allegedly disabled the company’s security system before unlawfully accessing Mr. Wang’s office and fatally attacking him. They then stole the keys to his residence, burgled the home, and fled Ogun State with an undisclosed sum of cash.
The successful operation was the result of coordinated efforts by the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, and the Nigeria Police Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU), which deployed a combination of digital forensics, biometric analysis, and human intelligence to track the suspects.
Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended all officers involved in the operation, praising their professionalism and unwavering commitment to justice.
“This breakthrough reinforces the Force’s resolve to protect all residents and foreign nationals in Nigeria,” the IGP stated. “We will continue to invest in proactive and precision-led policing to prevent and investigate crimes across the country.”
The suspects are currently in custody and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations. The police have assured the public, including foreign business communities, of their continued commitment to ensuring justice and public safety.
