Engr Dalori Forfeits Galaxy Hospital, Petrol Station, Properties & Cash

A Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, has granted a final forfeiture order of Galaxy Hospital, petrol stations, landed properties, and over ₦333 million

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which secured the order, alleged that the assets were proceeds of fraudulent activities. The forfeited properties are spread across the Federal Capital Territory, Borno, Nasarawa, and Niger States.

PRNigeria gathers that the assets were  linked to Borno businessman Babagana Abba Dalori, Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Group of Companies including transport and construction industry.

Dalori, who was previously arraigned by the EFCC for obtaining money by false pretence from multiple individuals, has now lost ownership of the affected assets following the court’s ruling on Monday, July 14, 2025.

In a statement, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said the order was granted by Justice Emeka Nwite, following a motion filed pursuant to Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006, marked FHC/ABJ/1058/2024.

The motion was supported by a 36-paragraph affidavit deposed to by EFCC operative Tahiru Ahmed, who informed the court that no individual or entity had stepped forward to contest the interim forfeiture previously granted on August 13, 2024.

In compliance with the court’s directive, the EFCC had published the interim order in The Punch newspaper on September 4, 2024, inviting interested parties to show cause why the properties should not be permanently forfeited to the federal government.

At the resumed hearing, EFCC counsel Fadila Yusuf urged the court to uphold the forfeiture, stating that the commission had complied with all legal requirements. In his ruling, Justice Nwite declared: “Having listened to the submission of the EFCC lawyer and reviewed the affidavits in support of the motion, I am of the view that this application is meritorious.” The court thereafter granted the final forfeiture as prayed.

The court also ordered the forfeiture of funds held in several bank accounts, including ₦281,455,454 in the account of Galaxy Transportation and Communication Service Ltd; ₦6,977,195 in the account of Galaxy Computing and Electronics Service Ltd; ₦1,240,588 in the account of Galaxy Energy Int’l Concept Ltd; and ₦43,705,469.55 in the account of Galaxy Transportation & Construction Service.

Other forfeited bank accounts, though with zero balances, include those of Galaxy Transport & Construct Service, Galaxy Intercontinental Miners Concept Ltd, Galaxy Superstores & Pharmacy, Galaxy Transportation & Construction, and Galaxy Hospital (Abba Babagana Dalori).

The court’s decision marks a significant development in the EFCC’s efforts to recover proceeds of economic and financial crimes. The ruling is also a blow to Dalori, whose once-prominent business empire has now collapsed under the weight of criminal allegations and asset recovery.
