Ilorin Local Security Team Arrests Three Serial Kidnappers
The Ilorin South Local Government Council’s security team has successfully apprehended three suspected serial kidnappers who have been terrorizing residents and commuters along Idofian Road.
The arrests were made in the early hours of Sunday at Abelu, a known criminal hideout. Acting on credible intelligence, the security force raided the location, leading to the capture of the three suspects.
Authorities were shocked to discover that the criminals had been using a bicycle as a deceptive tool to aid their operations. The suspects allegedly posed as innocent cyclists to avoid suspicion while monitoring and executing their abductions.

The Executive Chairman of the Ilorin South Local Government Council, Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, commended the bravery and efficiency of the security task force. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting residents.
“This success is a clear result of our renewed efforts in supporting local security architecture and encouraging community vigilance,” Hon. Podo stated. “We will not relent until Ilorin South is free from criminal elements.”
The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further interrogation as the investigation continues. Officials are working to determine the full extent of their criminal network and previous operations.
