Global IT Leader Saleeman Adedoyin Launches Free Summer School in Ilorin to Empower Students with Practical Skills

Global IT leader and philanthropist, Engineer Saleeman Adedoyin Saleeman, has launched Project Tutored 25 in Ilorin, Kwara State, in collaboration with the international NGOs Evergreen Initiative and SheBuildLives. This free summer school program is designed to benefit over 100 students from underserved communities, offering both academic reinforcement and practical survival skills essential for the 21st century.

Running from 28th June to 17th July 2025, Project Tutored 25 is part of a nationwide initiative that has recorded significant success in other Nigerian states. It aims to bridge academic gaps among children in low-income areas while fostering confidence, creativity, and leadership through mentorship and interactive learning sessions.

The program, supported by 30 dedicated volunteers, will provide focused lessons in digital literacy and computer-based training, alongside soft skills such as counseling, leadership, and time management. Additionally, students will gain hands-on vocational training in areas such as shoe making, bead making, and soap production. To further reduce barriers to learning, participants will be offered daily meals and provided with essential school supplies.

Engineer Saleeman, who recently marked 10 years of corporate experience in the United States, having worked with global brands such as Lowe’s, Target, and Southwest Airlines, expressed his unwavering commitment to giving back to his home country. Through the SAS Foundation, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives focused on youth empowerment and community development.

“My goal is to train tens of thousands of individuals in the effective use of IT and to cultivate a new generation of exceptional computer professionals in my home country,” he said. “We have the talent and workforce needed—what we require is a little push to uplift our people and provide them with better opportunities.”

In addition to the summer school program, Engineer Saleeman emphasized plans to establish IT centers and provide essential learning gadgets to enhance digital education in Kwara and beyond. His philanthropic work has earned widespread recognition, including commendations from the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, and other traditional and religious leaders, who praised his genuine compassion and dedication to uplifting the less privileged.

As Project Tutored 25 progresses, the SAS Foundation and its partners have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the program to more communities across Kwara State, with the goal of creating long-term educational and vocational empowerment opportunities for rural children.
