Troops Avert Terrorists’ IED Attack in Borno
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully thwarted an attempt by Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the strategic Marte–Dikwa road in Borno State, PRNigeria reports.
Reliable military sources informed Zagazola Makama that the operation was part of intensified counter-terrorism offensives ordered by the military high command to deny insurgents freedom of movement and disrupt their operational capabilities across the North East.
The attempted attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at about 2:01 a.m., when vigilant troops, acting on actionable intelligence, staged an ambush along a key bridge on the Marte–Dikwa axis.
