Troops Neutralise 6 Terrorists in Coordinated Operations Across Borno, Recover Firearms
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai have successfully neutralised six terrorists and intercepted logistics supplies and weapons during a series of coordinated operations across Borno State, PRNigeria learnt.
Military sources disclosed on Tuesday that the operations, conducted under Operation Desert Sanity IV, involved ambush and fighting patrols in Konduga and Aligambari villages respectively.
The first ambush took place late on July 28 in the Kawuri general area of Konduga Local Government Area. Troops, acting on intelligence, intercepted terrorists transporting logistics. A firefight ensued, leading to the neutralisation of two terrorists, while several others escaped with possible gunshot wounds. Items recovered included food condiments, toiletries, wrappers, undergarments, hijabs, shoes, a solar panel, torchlight batteries, and multiple SIM card packs.

Later around midnight, troops on patrol in another axis of Konduga detected suspicious movement. An ambush team swiftly engaged the hostile elements, resulting in the neutralisation of one additional terrorist. The troops safely returned to base with recovered items and without any casualties.
In a separate encounter on Monday afternoon, troops carried out a fighting patrol in Aligambari village near Gajiram following credible intelligence reports. Upon making contact, the soldiers overpowered the terrorists with superior firepower, killing two ISWAP insurgents. The troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one PKT machine gun, and two magazines from the scene.
“The troops are currently dominating their area of responsibility with aggressive patrols to deny terrorists freedom of movement,” a military source said, adding that all recovered items are in custody and further directives are being awaited from higher headquarters.
The recent successes highlight the intensified efforts of the Nigerian military to clear remnants of terrorist elements and secure communities in the North East.
