Kano Governor Sacks Two Aides Over Misconducts
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered the immediate dismissal of two Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) following the conclusion of investigative committee reports that found them guilty of serious misconduct.
The Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation, Abubakar Umar Sharada, was removed from office after a Special Investigative Committee established his role as the mastermind behind the controversial bail of a notorious drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu. According to the committee’s findings, Sharada’s own testimony confirmed his involvement in facilitating the bail process.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, the governor directed Sharada to hand over all government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary, Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs (REPA) in the SSG’s office on or before close of work on Monday, 11 August 2025. He was further cautioned against parading himself as a public officer under the current administration.
Similarly, the governor approved the dismissal of Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, Senior Special Assistant, Cabinet Office, who was arrested in 2024 for rebagging palliative grains at a warehouse in Sharada. Roba has since been arraigned in court on charges of theft and criminal conspiracy for allegedly diverting public assets. He has also been directed to return all government property, including his identification card, by the same deadline, and warned against representing himself as a government official.
In contrast, the state government cleared Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, of all allegations against him after an investigative committee affirmed his innocence.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance policy for corruption and misconduct, stressing the need for public officials to uphold the highest standards of integrity in both official and private conduct. The public was advised to avoid engaging the dismissed aides on any matter relating to the Kano State Government, as doing so would be at their own risk.
