NAF Eliminates Over 35 Terrorists at Assembly Point Near Cameroon Border
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the elimination of over 35 terrorists during precision airstrikes conducted near the Nigeria–Cameroon border in the early hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025.
According to the NAF, the operation was carried out under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) following credible intelligence reports that terrorists had converged around Kumshe after an attempted attack on ground troops.
Acting on the intelligence, the Air Component of OPHK executed successive precision strikes on four identified assembly areas, engaging and neutralising more than 35 fighters.

“Following the operation, communication was re-established with ground troops, who confirmed that the situation around their location had been stabilised,” said Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters.
The air interdiction, NAF explained, was part of intensified efforts to dominate the battlespace, deny terrorists freedom of action, and disrupt their logistics and movement corridors along the North East border region.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, commended the professionalism of the aircrew, stressing that the Air Force remains committed to providing close air support for ground forces while sustaining aggressive, intelligence-driven operations against terrorist elements threatening Nigeria’s sovereignty.
