Troops Neutralise 7 Bandits, Recover Motorcycles in Katsina

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have neutralised seven armed bandits and recovered four motorcycles during a clearance operation in Baba, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, PRNigeria learnt.

The operation, which took place on Thursday, followed credible intelligence on the movement of the criminal group that had been terrorising farming communities in the area.

Security sources said the encounter lasted over two hours, during which troops engaged the bandits, killing seven, while others escaped with gunshot wounds. Four motorcycles used by the bandits for their illicit activities were recovered from the scene.

The operation, according to Zagazola, is part of ongoing military efforts across frontline local government areas to dismantle bandit hideouts and guarantee the safety of residents, particularly farmers, during the rainy season.

Authorities urged residents to continue providing timely information to security agencies to aid ongoing counter-banditry operations and restore lasting peace in the North West region.
