Police Repatriate Wanted Chinese Fugitive
The Nigeria Police Force has successfully repatriated a high-profile Chinese fugitive, Mr. Dai Qisheng, in what has been described as a landmark transnational crime operation executed through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja.
The operation, carried out in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB Beijing and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria, saw the return of Dai, a notorious gang leader wanted in Guizhou Province, China, for orchestrating and leading violent organized crimes.
According to the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, Dai fled China in 2024 after the Public Security Bureau of Zhijin County issued a warrant for his arrest. He later sought refuge in Nigeria, but was tracked, placed under surveillance, and arrested in Abuja on August 8, 2025, by operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja. He was repatriated to Beijing on August 15, 2025, under the framework of police-to-police cooperation coordinated by INTERPOL.
