Lagos Police Bust Car Theft Syndicate, Recover Stolen Bus
The Lagos State Police Command has busted a car theft syndicate, arresting four suspects and recovering a stolen Toyota Hiace bus.
Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Sunday, said operatives of the Command’s Tactical Team in Isheri launched the operation after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle on August 1.
According to him, detectives swiftly deployed intelligence-led strategies which led to the arrest of the prime suspect, Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi, 31, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

“Further investigation led to the arrest of three accomplices — Yenusa Salihu, 45, a mechanic; Baba Jero Idris, 49, a car dealer; and Abdullahi Aliyu, 41, a businessman — all in Kano State. The stolen grey Toyota Hiace bus was also recovered in the same location,” Hundeyin stated.
He added that the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for what he described as a swift and intelligence-driven operation. He assured residents and visitors in Lagos that the Command would continue to deploy cutting-edge strategies to tackle vehicle theft and bring criminals to justice.
