New Education Curriculum: Full List of JSS, SS Subjects
The full list of subjects under Nigeria’s newly introduced school curriculum has surfaced, following its unveiling by the Federal Government.
The Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, shared details of the curriculum in a post on his X handle on Wednesday. According to him, the curriculum will take effect from the 2025/2026 academic session, beginning in September.
The revised curriculum introduces compulsory digital literacy and basic entrepreneurship at the junior secondary level, while senior secondary students will be exposed to subjects such as programming, artificial intelligence, and additional international languages.

Junior Secondary School (JSS 1–3)
Mathematics & Measurement: Numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, algebra, statistics, graphs, and measurement.
English Language: Essay writing, advanced grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, and oral presentations.
Integrated Science: Physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, technology, and lab safety.
Digital Literacy & Coding: Microsoft Office tools, internet research, Python basics, Scratch, and basic robotics.
Social Studies: Nigerian and African history, geography, civics, economy, trade, and global issues.
Languages: Advanced mother tongue and conversational fluency in a foreign language (French/Arabic).

Technology & Innovation: Programming (Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS), data science basics, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital entrepreneurship, and cybersecurity.
Social Sciences: Government, law, economics, history, philosophy, ethics, and entrepreneurship.
Languages: Advanced mother tongue literature and fluency in an international language (French, Arabic, or optional Chinese).
Creative Arts & Innovation: Fine arts, music, drama, and media production.
Physical & Health Education: Advanced sports, mental health, first aid, CPR, and leadership.
Research & Project Work: Final-year projects involving data collection, analysis, presentation, and defense.
The Federal Government said the reform is aimed at preparing Nigerian students with the skills and knowledge needed for a fast-changing global economy.
