Security Forces Destroy IPOB/ESN Camp in Anambra Intelligence-led Operation
A combined team of security operatives has destroyed a camp belonging to suspected members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Aguluezechukwu community, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The operation, carried out on Tuesday morning, was said to have been based on actionable intelligence regarding the group’s activities in the area.

The joint task force comprised personnel of the Nigerian Army — including the 302 Artillery Regiment Onitsha and the 14 Field Engineers Regiment Onitsha — alongside operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Rapid Response Squad (RRS), B’ Ops Awka, and members of the Agunechenba Vigilante.
According to security sources, the raid led to the destruction of the camp and the dislodgement of the militants. Recovered items included a white Lexus 470 SUV with an unverified registration number, suspected to have been stolen, as well as several improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The sources further disclosed that clearance operations targeting armed groups across identified locations in the state are ongoing and will be sustained until the militants are completely neutralised.
