Troops Repel Bandit Attack in Katsina, Rescue Kidnap Victims

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, working in synergy with the Police and Community Watch Corps, have successfully repelled a bandit attack in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday when armed bandits stormed Gago and Ruwan Dorawa villages, abducting two residents — Labaran Jalli (35) and Umma Sabon Gero (30) — and leaving several others injured.

According to sources, Labiru Umaru (40) from Gago village, along with two members of the Community Watch Corps, Abba Mohammed (30) and Suleman Shuaibu (35), sustained gunshot wounds during the assault.

Security forces, supported by vigilantes, swiftly mobilized to the area and engaged the assailants in a fierce gun duel, compelling them to retreat.

The injured victims were rushed to the General Hospital in Dutsinma for treatment, while security agencies continue operations to track down the fleeing bandits and rescue the abducted residents.

The command assured locals that troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA, in collaboration with other security outfits, will sustain aggressive patrols to restore peace and stability across the area.
