Fani-Kayode Denies Interest in NFA Chairmanship
ABUJA, NIGERIA — Former Aviation Minister and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has issued a strong disclaimer debunking “fake news” reports that he is interested in becoming the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA).
In a statement released to the public, Fani-Kayode labeled the claims as “deeply insulting,” clarifying that he has no interest in the NFA or football in general.

Fani-Kayode stated that he has not been approached or nominated for the position, and if he had been, he would have “respectfully declined.” He added, “I am not a footballer and I could not care less who the NFA Chairman is or will be.”
He urged the public to disregard the “rubbish” being spread by “criminal blogs,” calling the stories “good old fashioned fake news” with a hidden agenda.
The former minister advised the public to only trust information from his verified social media accounts on X, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as his official website. “Anything outside of these platforms are FAKE,” he cautioned.
