CDS Assures on Security as Northern Forum Backs Military Efforts

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, yesterday assured that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) will sustain ongoing operations to safeguard lives and property across the country.

General Musa gave the assurance in Abuja when he received members of the Northern Bridge Builders Forum on a courtesy visit at the Defence Headquarters.

The delegation, led by former minister and senator, Joel Danlami Ikenya, commended the AFN for its role in restoring relative peace, particularly along the Abuja–Kaduna highway, and for enabling farmers to return to their fields.

Ikenya said the forum remained firmly behind the military and disassociated itself from what he described as uninformed criticisms of the AFN, stressing that visible improvements in security were testaments to the troops’ efforts.
