Terrorists Attack Zamfara Mosque, Kill Five and Abduct Muslim Worshippers During Morning Prayers
Suspected armed terrorists launched a brutal attack on a mosque in Yan Doto Town, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, during early morning prayers, killing at least five worshippers and abducting several others.
The deadly assault occurred around 5:30 am, when the assailants surrounded the mosque, locked the doors, and opened fire on the Muslim worshippers while they were performing the Subhi prayer.
PRNigeria gathered that in addition to the fatalities, many other worshippers sustained serious gunshot wounds. The terrorists subsequently kidnapped several survivors, taking them into their custody.

The attack has deepened the sense of fear and desperation among locals who are already under siege by criminal gangs. A youth leader, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, lamented the escalating levels of violence and extortion in the community.
“We are in bad situations,” the leader told PRNigeria. “They prevent us from farming, they tax other business owners, and now they are preventing us from even praying. Who are these godless people really?”
The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents in the state, signaling a disturbing escalation of terrorism that now targets religious gatherings. Security forces have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident or the number of people abducted.
