Police, Army Raids Bandit Hideouts, Arrest 6 Suspects in Benue
A joint operation by the Nigerian Army and the Benue State Police Command has led to the arrest of six suspects during raids on bandit hideouts in the Sankara axis of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area.
According to police sources, tactical teams launched the operation on the morning of September 27, targeting various black spots in the region. The suspects, identified as Harrison Innocent (30), Chidera Aningene (23), Blessing Ula (27), Godwin Chukwuma (40), Paul David (27), and John Nevgba (18), were apprehended during the raids.

The individuals were found with substances believed to be hard drugs, which they are suspected of supplying to local bandits. All six are currently in police custody, and an investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is underway.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army’s 401 Brigade has also initiated a separate clearance operation in the Sankara axis. Troops are advancing towards Takum, Taraba State, to link up with forces there to confront bandits who have reportedly fled to the Peva (Chanchangi) hideout.
The security forces have stated that these raids will be sustained to flush out all criminal elements from the state. Further updates on the operations are expected to be made public as they become available.
